2/03: Recording of our new album at Los Angeles

Greetings people! The recording of the fifth Gandhi's album has begun! In the middle of the whole recording process, that has taken place from Playas del Coco, Guanacaste to San Jose; Abel and Massimo have something to say to us all:

View whole article at forum

Abel:

Hi guys!
22 days ago we went to Playas del Coco with our producer Stevie Salas and our assistant Carlos "Picudo" Guardia. During 10 days, we finished the pre-production of our new 11 brand new songs. Then, back from the beach, we put ourselves together at Audio Arte Studio.

Later at Audio Arte, we started recording with Alberto Ortiz as our Sound Engineer (and also with Picudo as assistant and Stevie as producer). We have finished the recording of the rythmic tracks. Stevie is amazing! He takes out the best of each one.

We are getting crazy when thinking about our next phase. Next March 3rd we will be going to Los Angeles! We will be recording exhaustively at Matt Sorum's Studio (Guns n Roses & Velvet Revolver).

Massimo:

For the first time, we have a fifth Gandhi playing along with us while recording. Stevie, who is an excellent rythmic guitarist recorded along with us the rythmic tracks of the songs. By my side, the drums I think are the best I have ever recorded with Gandhi, Stevie pushed me up a lot, I have changed the way I play the drums.

This album will be rock oriented (not metal oriented) than our last album. We have chosen 11 themes from a lot of songs that we have. Based on the idea that the songs have to have some physical reaction on the audience.

This Monday, March 3rd we will go to Los Angeles to start the recording at Matt Sorum's Studio and later to San Diego to Tom Petty's bass player studio. Also, we knew that Matt Sorum will record some of the percussion with us! Later, there will be 6 more days or recording, and then, the album will be masterized at Canada!

1/31: Next Gandhi's album production has begun

Greetings! We'd like to inform you that the pre-production of our new ambum began today! From today, we'll be at Playas del Coco, Guanacaste initiating the selection and recording of the album, then we will move our Producer's Studio Stevie Salas at Los Angeles, California. This will take the major part of Febraury.

In the other hand, next Sunday, Febraury 3rd, Gandhi will have a merchandise stand on the Expo Rock 2008 at El Atico, Zapote since 10:00AM. We will be have on sale t-shirts, CD's, DVD's, Banners, casettes, and so on.

We will be on touch!

11/17: Coming soon: Vol. 1

Next December, we will be selling out a collectible album with 15 singles including 2 live themes and a bonus track. On the next few days, we will have more info about it. In the meantime, Gandhi works on the production of their new album together with Stevie Salas (www.steviesalas.com).

11/17: Concert at CENAC

Greetings! Next Sunday, December 2nd, Gandhi returns to the stage! We will be at the CENAC on a concert, this event will be free of charge and it will conmemorate the abolition of the army.

10/16: News from our next album!

"Last week was very busy for Gandhi!

We had a concentration into the A Studio at Audio Arte with the producer of our new album, Stevie Salas (www.steviesalas.com). He has an excellent mood, and also he is a great guitarist and producer. Thus, he has clearly defined the focus that he wants for our new album, and of course, that makes us very happy (rock 'n roll!). We had about 25 demos, we did make a filter and worked together a pre production of 5 songs that, at least for me, amazed me. The Saturday he had to go back to Los Angeles because of his pretty tight schedule. The idea is that he returns as fast as posible to continue the pre production of the rest of the album, so later in January we can go to Los Angeles and record our new album.

Soon we will be giving you more details, but as far as I know, the waiting has its worth!"

    La Nación:
...La Guácima was a happy anthill where Gandhi turned on the audience with a high level show... With Luis Montalbert-Smith surrounded with Costa Rica's flag, they started with their old but well known singles: Quisiera, Hacia adentro y El son del dolor (since that song started, the audience, that didn't stop jumping, started to accompanish the band with a huge chorus.).

    Al Día:
The local band Gandhi impressed us, they were the best on the stage, because they prepared a lot of surprises ... they left the best for the end, their song "El invisible".
